RDS (Room Data Sheets) are used to document the details and requirements of each space in a project. They are typically prepared by the client during the time of briefing (also known as architectural programing in the US) of the design process. They can be updated throughout the design to reflect modifications or to provide an easier understanding to those who are responsible for delivering a project.
The Room Data Sheets SmartTool allows users to create room (or space) sheets of data using a Revit project. It is a speedy and accurate tool that can be used to create sheet, elevation and schedule views. The tool is able to generate 3D plans elevations, plans, and schedule views of spaces or rooms.
The default setting is to use the Room Numbering template and the Sheet Format determined by the Revit project, however, a different sheet name and style can be chosen from the Tool Options tab. Alternately, click ‘Load’ …’ on the toolbar to load previously saved configurations which will replace the current settings. This reduces the amount manual work required to change the settings for different rooms and types.
In the ‘Naming:’ tab the user can choose whether to include the chosen room or space name in the ‘Sheet Name text box that is displayed https://searchstreams.info/data-stream-management-system to the left of the screen. The ‘View Title option specifies the text that appears in the title bar for each view. ‘View Increment’ specifies the number of increments between each view on the sheet. The ‘Spacing’ option allows you to control the spacing between each view. The ‘Exclude Titles from Estimating View Sizes for Sheets’ option will ensure that titles are not included in the calculation of the number of views on a sheet.
